What is a SSL Security Certificate?

21st April 2017

Secure Sockets layer or SSL certificate is security technology which enables an encrypted link between a server and client using a pair of keys – ‘public’ and ‘private’ which work together to establish a secure connection. SSL is a security protocol that uses algorithms to dictate the encryption for each link and relevant data.

From a marketing and business perspective, SSL is vital for ensuring a positive customer experience, protecting sensitive customer data, such as bank details and personal information. This develops customer trust and strong customer relationships.
